Jillian Noel Shennessy was born on November 25, 1968, in Canada is a Canadian actress and musician who has been recognized for her significant contribution to American television. She has been praised for her stellar performances on the American TV show Law & Order in which she as Claire Kincaid as a prosecutor for three seasons. She also appeared on Crossing Jordan, wherein she portrayed Jordan Cavanaugh the main character for six seasons. Hennessy showcased her talents in independent films including Chutney Popcorn or The Acting Class. Hennessy began her acting career with her sister, playing twin call-girls on Dead Ringers in 1988. She spent a short time on Broadway performing Buddy - The Buddy Holly Story, before moving into the world of science fiction in 1993 in the role of Doctor. Marie Lazarus. The following year she made her most famous break when she joined NBC's hit drama Law & Order to play assistant district attorneys Claire Kincaid. Her performance captivated viewers in the character for three seasons before the end of 1996 when she left.
