Avery Sunshine

Avery Sunshine is an enigmatic singer, composer and performer. He combines jazz from the soul genre with R&B to create a unique combination. From Broadway to European clubs and festivals, the artist has worked anywhere. Sunshine was born Denise White. The singer hails from Chester Pennsylvania, where she began her music career singing and playing piano in the church. Following her graduation from Spellman College, Atlanta she started her journey in music on Atlanta's R&B music scene. The Fighting Temptations The single featuring her voice,"Stalk You an House, was only released in Japan. It has had numerous remixes and is the mainstay of her live show. Her voice was also featured on the soundtrack of The Fighting Temptations. She was the keyboardist in Tyler Perry's stage production Meet the Browns. Jennifer Holliday, a Grammy as well as Tony Award winning vocalist who performed on stage in the production Dreamgirls at the National Black Arts Festival of Atlanta in 2007 was approached to become the choral leader for this stage show. Sunshine was recognized nationally through her performances on four consecutive days in 2008 at the Democratic National Convention. She was then invited to perform in the Obama administration's inaugural in 2009.
